At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiled the new Golf GTI. Photos from the event show that the model retains the familiar five-door hatchback layout and signature GTI cues: red bodywork, sporty body kit, large wheels, and red brake calipers.

According to the display information, the new Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a displacement of 1984 cc. Maximum output is 162 kW (220 hp) at 4900-6700 rpm, with peak torque of 350 Nm from 1600 to 4300 rpm. Transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG.

The car measures 4289 mm in length, 1788 mm in width, and 1468 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2631 mm. Cargo volume stands at 342 liters, and curb weight is 1464 kg. The fuel consumption figure on the display board is 6.82 L/100 km combined.
