Discover the new Volkswagen ID.UNYX 07, a fully electric crossover with 558 km range, 60 kWh battery, and 170 kW motor. Debut at Beijing auto show.
At the Beijing auto show, 32CARS journalists spotted the new Volkswagen ID.UNYX 07, a fully electric crossover designed specifically for China. The model features a 60 kWh battery, a range of up to 558 km under the CLTC cycle, and a 170 kW electric motor, making it one of the brand's key projects in the EV segment.
The ID.UNYX 07 is a mid-size crossover measuring 4853 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2826 mm. Its exterior adopts the current ID family styling but with sharper lines and a coupe-like silhouette that suits the Chinese market. Cargo volume ranges from 711 to 1580 liters, adding practicality for families.
Underpinning it is Volkswagen's electric platform for ID models, adapted for local production in China. The rear-mounted electric motor delivers 170 kW and 350 Nm of torque. An LFP battery pack with a 60 kWh capacity suggests an emphasis on cost and longevity.
The range hits up to 558 km on the CLTC cycle, while top speed is governed to 160 km/h. Fast charging is supported at up to 150 kW. Standard equipment includes Highway NOA, a highway autonomous driving assist system that matters in China's advanced driver assistance infrastructure.
The ID.UNYX 07 will take on rivals like the BYD Song Plus EV and Geely Galaxy E5 among others. Volkswagen is clearly trying to strengthen its position in the affordable EV segment, where Chinese brands already dominate.
