Lexus RX facelift preview: new design and tech for 2027 model
Lexus RX facelift spotted in tests with redesigned lights, grille, and updated interior. Expected debut in 2026 as a 2027 model year vehicle.
Lexus is preparing a refresh for one of its most popular crossovers, the RX. The updated model has already been spotted during road tests, where the prototype is camouflaged, but key changes are visible even under the disguise.
The main updates are concentrated at the front and rear. The crossover will get redesigned lighting with new graphics, an updated signature grille, and more pronounced air intakes. The bumper will also change, giving the vehicle a more modern and aggressive appearance.
At the rear, the changes are less radical but still noticeable: the taillights, diffuser, and rear bumper will be updated. The overall body architecture will remain the same, which is typical for a facelift. Inside, new multimedia displays and a digital instrument panel are expected, along with minor revisions to the center console and steering wheel.
The current generation Lexus RX debuted in 2022, and after a few years, the manufacturer is ready to refresh the model to maintain its competitiveness in the premium SUV segment. The debut of the updated version will likely occur closer to the end of 2026, with sales starting as a 2027 model year vehicle.
Lexus is following a proven strategy: a careful facelift instead of radical changes. But in a competitive market, even such targeted updates can play a key role—especially if they involve technology and multimedia.
