Renault's Future Ready India strategy to launch seven models by 2030
Renault's Future Ready India strategy aims to launch seven models by 2030, focusing on modern designs, digital tech, and electrified powertrains, with India as a key market and export hub.
Renault has announced a new development strategy for India called Future Ready India. The French automaker plans to launch seven models by 2030 and transform the country into one of its three largest markets.
Under this strategy, Renault will focus on producing vehicles with modern designs, digital technologies, and electrified powertrains. The first four models, including a new Duster, are already planned, with the lineup expanding to seven cars by the end of the decade.
All new models will be built on the RGEP and RGMP platforms, which are designed for various powertrain types—from conventional internal combustion engines to hybrids and electric vehicles. This approach allows for flexible adaptation to market demands.
A key element of the strategy is the Chennai plant, which Renault plans to fully control. The facility will become a hub for production, development, and exports. The company aims to leverage the competitiveness of Indian manufacturing to supply vehicles and components to global markets, including South America. India also already hosts a major engineering center with thousands of specialists.
Renault expects to increase exports from India to 2 billion euros annually by 2030. This positions the country not only as a sales market but also as a crucial part of the global supply chain.
Renault's strategy highlights a shift in automakers' focus toward emerging markets. India is becoming a key growth point, combining demand, manufacturing capabilities, and export potential.
