2027 Corvette Stingray: Standard performance exhaust with new LS6 engine
The 2027 Corvette Stingray now includes the Performance exhaust system standard, paired with a new 6.7-liter V8 LS6 engine, boosting power to 535 hp and 700 Nm of torque.
General Motors has made the Performance exhaust system (RPO NPP) standard on the 2027 Corvette Stingray, pairing it with a new 6.7-liter V8 LS6 engine. While the NPP exhaust has been around since the 2008 C6 with its 6.2-liter V8 LS3, this marks the first time it comes standard on the base Corvette.
Previously, C8 Stingray models rolled off the line with a standard exhaust, while the NPP system was offered as a $1,195 option or included in the $6,345 Z51 Performance Package. Engine power reflected this split. Base cars with the LT2 produced 490 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque, while versions with the NPP system delivered 495 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque.
For the 2027 model year, that gap disappears. Every Stingray now puts out 535 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque—a significant power bump thanks to the new LS6 engine and the standard Performance exhaust.
According to General Motors, the new NPP exhaust provides an aggressive exhaust note that changes based on the selected drive mode. This feature allows the car to shift from a subdued character to a more assertive one depending on driver input. The key difference is that buyers no longer need to opt for this system to get the corresponding sound.
