Geely EX2 electric car coming to Europe with competitive pricing

Geely launches its EX2 electric hatchback in Europe as the E2, offering an affordable EV with up to 410 km range. Learn about specs, price, and competition.

Chinese automotive giant Geely is preparing to launch one of its most successful models in the European market: the compact electric vehicle EX2, which will be sold as the Geely E2 in Europe. This hatchback has already become a true bestseller in China, with over 465,000 units sold last year.

The model's main advantage is its price. In its home market, it starts at around €8,500, making it one of the most affordable electric cars in the world. In Europe, the cost will naturally be higher, but the base version is expected to come in under €20,000. This positions it as a serious competitor to the Citroën e-C3 and other budget EVs.

The car, which measures about 4.1 meters in length, comes equipped with either a 30 kWh or 40 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 410 km according to the Chinese test cycle. Power varies from 79 to 116 horsepower, which is well-suited for urban driving.

Inside, you'll find a modern cabin featuring a large 14.6-inch screen and a digital instrument cluster. Geely is clearly targeting the affordable car segment for 2026, where competition is just starting to heat up.

However, success in Europe is far from guaranteed. The competition is already intense, and European buyers tend to be more demanding when it comes to quality and brand reputation. That said, if Geely maintains its aggressive pricing strategy, the EX2 could become one of Europe's best-selling electric cars.
