Maserati unveils new concept car with fresh design in 2026
Maserati will reveal a concept car at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026, showcasing a new design direction amid sales challenges and evolving EV market trends.
Maserati will unveil a new concept car at the Paris Motor Show in October 2026. Gilles Vidal, head of European design at Stellantis, confirmed this news, stating that the model will showcase the brand's new design direction.
The company notes that Maserati's styling has historically evolved about once every two decades. According to Vidal, the current design cycle is ending, and the brand is already developing a new visual language.
This concept car decision comes amid declining sales. The current model lineup, including both internal combustion engine versions and electrified options, has failed to generate sufficient buyer interest. Additional pressure stems from slowing demand for premium electric vehicles. As a result, Maserati has canceled several projects, including the electric MC20 Folgore and, reportedly, the next-generation Quattroporte.
The new concept aims to outline the brand's future direction, especially since the current product strategy is essentially on hold. It will form part of a new lineup and may look significantly different from Maserati's present design.
