The electric pickup SAIC Maxus eTerron 9 was spotted on roads in Serdang, Selangor, Malaysia. This model debuted in Europe in September 2024 and is positioned as the first all-wheel-drive electric pickup built on a dedicated platform.
With dimensions of 5,500 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, and 1,860 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,300 mm, it is larger than the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
It features a 102 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 430 km on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging at up to 115 kW can replenish the battery from 20% to 80% in about 40 minutes. An external power supply function is also included.
The powertrain consists of two electric motors, one per axle, with a combined output of 442 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.8 seconds. It has a payload capacity of 620 kg and can tow up to 3.5 tons.
The model boasts a transformable body that can handle long loads up to 2,400 mm, a front trunk with 236 liters of space, and foldable front seats to create a sleeping area measuring 1,700 mm. Inside, there is leather upholstery, a digital instrument cluster, and a multimedia system. Orders are now being accepted.
