Hennessey unveils Super Venom Mustang with 850 horsepower

Discover Hennessey's Super Venom Mustang, a limited edition with 850hp from a supercharged V8. Based on the Mustang GT, it surpasses the factory GTD in power.

Tuning atelier Hennessey has unveiled an extreme version of the Ford Mustang called the Super Venom. The model boasts 850 horsepower, surpassing the factory Mustang GTD with its 815 hp. This project marks the company's 35th anniversary and is being released as a limited series.

The Super Venom is based on a standard Mustang GT with a base output of around 500 hp. After modifications, power has increased by 70%, reaching 850 hp and 650 Nm of torque. A key factor is the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

This power boost pushes the model beyond the realm of classic muscle cars. In terms of performance, it approaches modern supercars, despite starting from a more affordable platform. This highlights the underlying potential of the Mustang's design.

The factory Mustang GTD remains focused on track performance and aerodynamics. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and can reach speeds up to 325 km/h. The Super Venom, however, prioritizes raw power and aggression.

The car features a carbon fiber aerodynamic package, including a splitter, diffuser, and side skirts. The cooling system and high-speed handling have been improved. Inside, the cabin gets leather and Alcantara trim with Hennessey's branding.

Only 35 units will be produced, a direct nod to the company's anniversary. Each car carries the signature "91" graphics, referencing the brand's founding year in 1991. The price has not been disclosed but is expected to be in the six-figure range.

Overall, the Super Venom demonstrates that the potential of classic muscle cars is far from exhausted. Even against factory hyper-versions like the GTD, independent tuners continue to set new benchmarks for power and exclusivity.
