Land Rover Defender recall due to third-row seatbelt anchor problem
Jaguar Land Rover recalls 30 Defender SUVs in Australia over weak third-row seatbelt anchor welds. Owners advised to avoid using affected seats until free repairs.
Jaguar Land Rover has announced a recall of Land Rover Defender SUVs in Australia due to a potential issue with third-row seatbelt anchor points.
The recall affects 30 vehicles produced in 2025–2026. According to the manufacturer, the lower anchor welds may lack sufficient strength, which could compromise the restraint system in a crash, increasing the risk of injury or fatality for passengers.
Owners have already been notified and are advised to avoid using the third-row seats until the defect is fixed. Repairs will be carried out free of charge at authorized dealers once the required parts are available.
This issue impacts premium 2026 model SUVs, where passenger safety remains a critical consideration for both operation and vehicle selection.
