Dacia to launch affordable electric quadricycle in 2026

Dacia is launching a budget electric quadricycle in summer 2026, competing with Citroen Ami. Features 80 km range, €5,990 price, ideal for urban mobility.

Dacia is preparing to launch a new budget electric quadricycle, set to hit the market in summer 2026. The model will directly compete with the Citroen Ami and target urban use.

The vehicle is being developed in the L6e category, which allows for reduced certification requirements and lower production costs. This approach helps bypass restrictions that hinder the release of affordable full-fledged electric vehicles in Europe.

The new model is expected to have a range of about 80 km, power under 10 hp, and a top speed up to 45 km/h. These specs align with the compact urban solutions segment.

A key factor will be the price—around €5,990, significantly lower than the Citroen Ami, which starts at about €8,800. Production is planned in Romania to cut costs.
