Renault launches new Twingo E-Tech electric car in Spain
Discover the Renault Twingo E-Tech, an affordable electric car with up to 263 km range, starting at €12,970 in Spain. Ideal for urban driving with compact design and modern features.
Renault has officially launched sales of the new Twingo E-Tech in Spain. This compact electric car now stands as the brand's most affordable model, targeting the mainstream urban segment.
Compact Format and Urban Character
At just 3.79 meters long, the Renault Twingo adopts a compact city car format. It maintains a practical layout with seating for four and offers good maneuverability. A tight turning radius makes it ideal for navigating narrow streets and parking spaces. The design features a retro style that nods to the original Twingo from the 1990s, while incorporating modern elements.
Technology and Range
The model is built on the RGEV Small platform, which is also used for the Renault R5 and R4. Weighing around 1,200 kg, this positively impacts efficiency. An 82-horsepower electric motor pairs with a 27.5 kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 263 km under the WLTP European cycle. This is sufficient for daily urban use.
Charging and Equipment
The base version supports AC charging up to 6.6 kW, with an optional more powerful system that includes fast charging capability. With this, charging from 10% to 80% takes about 30 minutes. Even in the entry-level trim, the Twingo comes with modern features, including a digital dashboard, a multimedia system, and a suite of safety systems. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control, climate control, and expanded functions.
Price and Positioning in Spain
The starting price for the Renault Twingo is €19,500, but with discounts and government subsidies, it drops to €12,970. This makes it one of the most affordable options in the electric vehicle market. As a result, Renault is focusing on the mass market segment and competing with budget Chinese models. The new Twingo offers a straightforward yet balanced set of features and could become one of Europe's most popular urban electric cars.
