Renault Duster price cuts in Brazil as new model nears

Renault has reduced prices for the Duster in Brazil, with cuts up to R$ 10,000, to prepare for the new generation. Learn about current specs and market position.

Renault has started cutting prices for the Duster in Brazil, preparing the market for the arrival of the new generation of the model. The current version, which has been on sale since 2020, is gradually making way for more modern SUVs from the brand.

The base Duster Intense Plus with a manual transmission has seen a price drop of R$ 10,000, bringing it down to R$ 131,990. The variant with a CVT now costs R$ 144,990, which is R$ 6,700 cheaper than before.

The more equipped Iconic Plus version also received a price reduction, now at R$ 154,990. Even the top-tier variant with the 1.3 TCe turbo engine has become cheaper, albeit more modestly, by R$ 5,000.

Unchanged Mechanics

Technically, the model remains unchanged. The main versions come with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine producing up to 112 horsepower, while the top version gets a turbocharged 1.3 TCe with an output of up to 163 horsepower.

Equipment includes a multimedia system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED lighting, and a set of basic safety systems. However, the model already lags noticeably behind newer 2026 vehicles in terms of technology and features.

Pressure from New Models and Competitors

The price cuts are linked to the renewal of Renault's lineup in Brazil. The Kardian and Boreal have already been launched, with the hybrid Koleos on the horizon, set to occupy a higher segment.

In the market, the Duster ranks only ninth, trailing models like the Volkswagen T-Cross and Hyundai Creta. This increases pressure on the model and calls for a more aggressive pricing strategy.

Overall, Renault is using a proven tool—lowering prices ahead of a generational change. This helps maintain interest in the model while the new version has yet to hit the market.
