Mugen updates Honda ZR-V and HR-V with styling and handling package

Mugen unveils a body kit for Honda ZR-V and HR-V, adding aggressive styling, 19-inch wheels, suspension, and exhaust without power changes. Enhance aesthetics and handling.

Japanese tuning house Mugen has unveiled an updated enhancement package for the Honda ZR-V, now fully compatible with the American HR-V version as well. This means crossover owners can finally install the complete branded body kit without modifications.

The focus is primarily on aesthetics. The package includes aggressive bumper covers, new side skirts, extended aerodynamic elements, an additional spoiler, and decorative details. All components come in matte black, giving the model a more sporty and aggressive character.

Additional offerings include 19-inch wheels, a refined suspension with Performance Dampers, and a sport exhaust system with four tips. The latter improves the sound but doesn't affect power output. This is the key point: the technical specifications remain unchanged.

The hybrid powertrain still delivers 181 horsepower, regardless of drive type. Package pricing varies based on options selected. For example, aerodynamic elements cost around several thousand dollars, while a full kit with suspension and exhaust can significantly increase the final price.

This approach is becoming increasingly popular: manufacturers are focusing on exterior styling and handling rather than power increases. Mugen has made the HR-V visually more striking, but without added power, it's more of a stylish accessory than a true performance upgrade.
