Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake hybrid details and European focus

Mercedes-Benz unveils hybrid specs for the new CLA Shooting Brake, with 1.5-liter turbo engine variants up to 187 hp, MB.OS tech, and European market targeting.

Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed the specifications for the new CLA Shooting Brake, making it clear the model will not be exclusively electric. Instead, the manufacturer is focusing on hybrid powertrains.

Hybrid Instead of Pure Electric

While the new CLA was initially presented as an electric vehicle, the lineup has now been expanded to include hybrid versions. This is a logical move, given that demand for traditional and hybrid solutions remains high.

The model comes in several variants, including front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations. All versions are targeted at the European market.

One Engine, Different Characters

Despite the variety of versions, they all share the same foundation: a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. The differences between the modifications are achieved through power tuning.

The base version produces around 134 horsepower, the mid-range version about 160 hp, and the top version reaches 187 hp. The fastest variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 7.2 seconds, making the wagon quite dynamic.

Technology and Positioning

The CLA Shooting Brake features the modern MB.OS digital architecture, support for semi-autonomous driving, and the brand's multimedia system with multiple screens. Two design lines are also available: standard and the more sporty AMG Line.

However, the model is unlikely to appear in the United States, as before. The main reason is weak demand for wagons, where buyers prefer crossovers like the GLA.
