General Motors is preparing to equip the C8 Corvette Stingray and E-Ray with a new Gen 6 Small Block V8. According to foreign media, the engine will debut alongside the 2027 model-year Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups. After that, the upgraded variant is expected to reach the Corvette, a sequence that feels deliberate and measured.

Two displacements are under consideration—5.7 and 6.6 liters, with the latter seen as the likelier choice for the sportier versions. The new engine is expected to replace the current 6.2-liter LT2, delivering higher efficiency and improved smoothness. The direction hints at sharpening everyday refinement while keeping the V8’s familiar character intact.
