2027 Volkswagen Atlas interior with passenger screen teased
Volkswagen teases the 2027 Atlas interior with a passenger display, redesigned dashboard, and premium features. Debuts in April at New York Auto Show.
Volkswagen is continuing to build anticipation for the new 2027 model year Atlas with a fresh interior teaser. A standout feature is a separate display for the front passenger—a solution increasingly common in modern Chinese crossovers.
Based on the images, the cabin features a completely redesigned dashboard with extensive ambient lighting and premium trim elements. Noticeable audio system components and upgraded materials suggest the model is targeting a higher market segment.
Interestingly, the design closely mirrors the Chinese Teramont Pro, highlighting the global unification of platforms and solutions within the Volkswagen Group. However, versions for different markets may vary in equipment.
The new Atlas is expected to be built on the MQB Evo platform and feature a turbocharged EA888 engine family. The model will debut in April at the New York Auto Show, with sales starting as a 2027 model year vehicle.
The inclusion of a passenger screen itself signals a shift in automotive development logic. Where the driver was once the sole focus, attention is now distributed to all passengers. Cars are gradually evolving into digital spaces where in-cabin interaction comfort matters as much as the driving experience—especially given the rise of autonomous functions and multimedia services.
