Kia Sportage hybrid: updated with more power and lower cost
Kia's refreshed Sportage hybrid offers 239 hp, better fuel efficiency, and a lower price to compete with Toyota Corolla Cross. Learn about its features and savings.
Kia has refreshed its hybrid Sportage and lowered its price, intensifying competition with the Toyota Corolla Cross. The updated model now delivers 239 horsepower and is significantly more affordable.
The hybrid system combines a 1.6 T-GDi gasoline engine with an electric motor. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 196 km/h. Average fuel consumption is 5.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
A key advantage is its 587-liter trunk, which outpaces the Corolla Cross's 473 liters. The Sportage also wins on price: the base version starts at 40,148 euros, but with a discount of up to 8,384 euros, the cost drops to 31,764 euros.
Even in the entry-level Concept trim, the crossover comes with LED lighting, a 12.3-inch screen, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a suite of safety aids.
