Dreame launches electric vehicles with Nebula Next lineup
Chinese company Dreame announces entry into EV market with Nebula Next models, including hypercar and SUV, targeting 2026 launch in China and 2027 in Australia and New Zealand.
Chinese company Dreame, known for household appliances and robot vacuums, has announced its entry into the electric vehicle market. The first models will launch in China in 2026, with Australia and New Zealand following in early 2027.
The brand plans to start with electric crossovers under the new Star Motor marque, but its main focus is on the Nebula Next lineup. This will include high-performance models, such as a hypercar and an SUV, targeting the level of Rimac.
The flagship Nebula Next 01 and 01X concepts are built on a platform with four electric motors. Claimed power reaches 1,399 kW, with torque hitting 23,000 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 1.8 seconds, putting the model among the fastest production electric cars available.
Technology is a key area of emphasis. Dreame is developing its own composite material called Blue Carbon Fibre, along with solid-state batteries. A prototype battery with a density exceeding 450 Wh/kg has already been shown, with potential for increases up to 800 Wh/kg.
The company is also adapting its cars for international markets, including chassis tuning and safety compliance. However, distribution partners have not yet been disclosed.
Dreame's move into the automotive sector reflects a growing trend where tech companies are increasingly entering the auto industry. For readers, this matters because the project's success will hinge on real-world battery efficiency and the ability to compete with established electric vehicle players.
