Polestar 4 updated with rear window and more space

Polestar is launching a new version of the Polestar 4 EV with a rear window, increased interior space, and traditional door handles for better practicality.

Polestar is preparing a new version of its Polestar 4 electric car, which will serve as a more practical alternative to the current model. The key change will be the addition of a rear window—previously, the vehicle was offered without one, relying instead on a digital mirror.

This updated variant will feature a shooting brake-style body with increased interior space. This move aims to attract buyers who found the original design less suitable. Additionally, traditional door handles are expected to return in place of the flush ones, driven by safety requirements.

Technical details

According to preliminary information, the technical specifications will remain largely unchanged. The base rear-wheel-drive version will deliver around 272 horsepower and offer a range of up to 600 km. The all-wheel-drive variant, equipped with dual motors, will provide up to 544 horsepower and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 4 seconds.

Polestar may also update the multimedia system and the battery, which has a capacity of about 100 kWh. This new version is intended to boost sales of the model, which currently trails significantly behind the Polestar 2. Overall, the update should strengthen the brand's position in the urban electric vehicle market, where practicality and everyday usability are crucial.
