Maturi Sideway Plus: compact off-road camper with unique layout
Discover the Maturi Sideway Plus off-road camper, featuring a side kitchen, shower module, and off-road suspension for self-sufficient travel. Starting at $26,700.
Polish company Maturi has unveiled the unusual off-road camper Sideway Plus. This compact trailer is designed for off-grid travel and can serve as a self-contained mobile home. Its standout feature is a unique layout.
Unlike most campers, the kitchen unit isn't at the rear but housed in a side compartment. Opening the lid reveals a cooktop and a food prep area. On the opposite side, there's a shower module, equipped with hot and cold water systems. It can be used with a portable tent for privacy.
The camper is built on an off-road suspension with independent arms and comes with BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. This setup ensures strong off-road capability. The trailer body can be made from wooden panels or composite materials with filler. Externally, it's coated with a protective polyurethane layer that shields it from moisture, rocks, and damage.
Standard equipment includes a 150W solar panel and a 100Ah battery, enabling autonomous use far from civilization. Weighing around 750 kg, the trailer can be towed by most passenger cars and crossovers. The base version of the Sideway Plus starts at approximately $26,700.
Compact off-road campers are growing in popularity among travel enthusiasts. Models like the Sideway Plus offer maximum self-sufficiency in a small package, allowing for expedition trips without needing a large motorhome.
