Rumors about the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Grand Sport X

Leaks suggest a new 2027 Chevrolet Corvette with Grand Sport and Grand Sport X variants, featuring a 6.7L V8 and electric AWD for up to 720 horsepower.

Information has surfaced online about a potential new version of the Chevrolet Corvette for the 2027 model year. According to a leak from a General Motors dealer meeting, the company may be preparing a Corvette Grand Sport model and a more powerful Grand Sport X variant.

Reports suggest the new model could be based on a new naturally aspirated V8 engine from the LS6 family, with a displacement of around 6.7 liters. The standard Grand Sport version is expected to produce approximately 534 horsepower.

The main news could be the Corvette Grand Sport X. Preliminary information indicates this version will feature an electric all-wheel-drive system. Its design may incorporate a front electric motor similar to the one used in the Corvette ZR1X. As a result, the combined power output of the powertrain could reach roughly 720 horsepower.

If the information is confirmed, this new model would be more powerful than the hybrid Corvette E-Ray, which develops 655 horsepower. The Grand Sport X is expected to improve acceleration dynamics and quarter-mile performance.

It is also reported that the Corvette lineup may change in the future: the E-Ray model could be replaced by the new Grand Sport X version. Meanwhile, the standard Grand Sport might become the base sports modification. Pricing for these future versions remains unknown.
