Cupra Formentor VZ5 crossover debuts in Australia with Audi engine

Cupra has announced the launch of the Formentor VZ5 crossover in Australia. This sporty version features an Audi Sport engine and will be produced in a limited edition. Preliminary reports indicate that fewer than 100 units will be delivered to the country, with a recommended price of 94,990 Australian dollars. Including all fees, the cost rises to 101,990 dollars.

The crossover is powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine, also used in the Audi RS3. This engine delivers 385 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

For handling, the model comes with an adaptive DCC suspension, a rear differential for torque distribution, and Akebono brakes featuring six-piston calipers. It also includes 20-inch wheels, a carbon fiber rear bumper element, and four exhaust pipes. Inside, drivers will find Sabelt sports seats with carbon backs, a panoramic roof, and a Sennheiser audio system. Most of these features come as standard equipment.

Production is scheduled from May to December 2026, with the first deliveries expected between December 2026 and March 2027. In terms of specs, this model fits into the category of sports cars for 2026.
