High demand for Mercedes CLA and GLC electric cars in Europe
Mercedes CLA EQ and GLC EQ electric models experience high demand in Europe, with wait times over six months. Learn about specs, pricing, and strategy.
The electric versions of the Mercedes CLA and GLC are experiencing high demand in the European market. According to the company, wait times for new orders now exceed six months. If you place an order in March, delivery may not occur until September at the earliest. Production capacity is currently struggling to keep up with the volume of requests.
The Mercedes CLA EQ sedan and GLC EQ electric crossover were unveiled last year. Both models have received positive reviews from experts for their blend of technical specifications, efficiency, and price. The CLA starts at around €48,050, while the GLC begins at approximately €71,900. The sedan can travel up to 792 km on a single charge, and the crossover can manage up to 713 km. Both electric models are built on an 800-volt architecture and support fast charging.
The company points out that this current success is linked to an updated strategy. Following the mixed reception of its initial electric vehicles—the EQC, EQE, and EQS—the brand revised its approach to developing electric models. The new cars have become more technologically advanced and visually closer to their internal combustion engine counterparts. Mercedes aims to build on this momentum with future models, including an electric version of the C-Class.
