Audi CEO Gernot Döllner has officially confirmed that the electric sports car Concept C will enter series production within the next two years. Earlier rumors had suggested the project might be cancelled amid uncertainty surrounding the electric Porsche 718, but the brand's management denied those claims.

Döllner described the Concept C as a serious product, noting that collaboration with Porsche on the platform is ongoing. The production version will be built on Volkswagen Group's PPE Sport architecture. The concept featured a rear electric motor, and a four-wheel-drive version with two motors is also in development.

The two-seater model will get a targa-style folding roof. A coupe with a fixed roof is not planned. According to the company, about 87% of the concept's design already matches the final look of the production version. The car will serve as a showcase for Audi's new brand style.

Inside, Audi promises a return to more physical controls and improved trim materials. The manufacturer acknowledged that interior quality had declined in recent years.

Sales are expected to reach the lower five-digit figures annually. Despite its niche status, the project is seen as an important step for the brand. In the 2026 sports car segment, the new model should strengthen Audi's image and demonstrate the brand's new strategy.
