Renault and Geely deepen collaboration on Alpine A110 technology

The partnership between Renault and Geely is entering a new phase. According to French press reports, the next generation Alpine A110 will feature an electronic architecture of Chinese origin, a development that has raised concerns in France.

The companies already collaborate on engines and hybrid systems, share manufacturing facilities in Brazil and South Korea, and use common platforms including the CMA architecture. Now they're moving toward deeper integration—sources indicate Alpine will receive approximately 100 components supplied by Geely.

Renault continues to develop its own software-defined vehicle architecture, Sweet 500. However, the project has faced delays, and management acknowledges competition between this internal solution and Geely's technology, which offers lower costs and faster implementation.

French labor unions have expressed worries about losing technological sovereignty. Authorities are also monitoring the situation closely.

Additional details may be revealed on March 10 during the presentation of the FutuREady strategic plan, where Renault will outline development roadmaps for its Renault, Alpine, and Dacia brands.
