Tesla's Giga Berlin may produce Cybercab and Optimus robot

Tesla is considering expanding Giga Berlin to produce the Cybercab and Optimus humanoid robot, with CEO Elon Musk discussing plans and potential capacity increases.

Tesla is considering expanding production at its Giga Berlin factory. CEO Elon Musk discussed this in an interview with the plant's manager, Andre Thierig.

Musk suggested that the next major product at the German site will likely be the Tesla Cybercab. He also noted that the factory could eventually produce the humanoid robot Optimus.

Currently, Cybercab production has already started at Giga Texas, with plans to ramp up volumes within the year. Under favorable conditions, the European facility could join in manufacturing the model.

Musk has previously stated that Optimus could become Tesla's most mass-produced product in the long term. At the Fremont factory, Model S and Model X lines are being retooled for robot production, with a potential capacity of up to 1 million units per year.

Additionally, Giga Berlin is already increasing battery cell production and continuing to boost Model Y output. Expansion is possible as approvals for the Full Self-Driving system in Europe are obtained.
