Genesis may launch a luxury minivan in China by 2030

Genesis is considering entering China's luxury minivan segment with a production version of the Jet on Wheels concept, targeting competitors like Zeekr 009 and Volvo EM90.

Genesis is exploring the possibility of entering the premium minivan segment in the Chinese market. According to Korean sources, the brand could launch a production version of the Jet on Wheels concept by the end of the decade, positioning it as a flagship model for China.

The concept, which was previously showcased in private demonstrations, features futuristic design and the signature Two Line lighting. While there's no official confirmation yet, Hyundai Motor Group leadership has hinted that the minivan idea is being seriously considered.

China's market shows consistent demand for luxury minivans. Competitors include the Zeekr 009, Li Auto Mega, and Volvo EM90, which is built on Geely Group's platform. Against this backdrop, Genesis may see the luxury van niche as an opportunity to secure a more profitable position despite relatively modest sales volumes.

For the brand, this represents a strategic move. In China, Genesis has yet to replicate its success in Western markets, and a new model could strengthen both its image and profitability. If the project gets the green light, the minivan could become a key element in Genesis's long-term expansion across Asia.
