Toyota unveils the bZ4X Touring, an electric crossover with up to 734 km range, fast charging, and practical upgrades for outdoor adventures. Available in Japan from 2026.

Toyota has unveiled the bZ4X Touring in Japan, a new version of its electric crossover designed for travel and outdoor adventures. Based on the standard bZ4X, this model offers more space, greater practicality, and enhanced technical features. The new body stretches 4,830 mm in length, providing a trunk that's 1.4 times larger—619 liters with the seats up and up to 1,240 liters when folded. Ergonomic improvements include extra hooks, levers to fold seats from the trunk, and increased loading height, making it more convenient for family trips.

A key achievement is the maximum range: 734 km under the European WLTC cycle for the Z FWD version. Energy efficiency has been significantly boosted by an improved eAxle using SiC semiconductors and redesigned aerodynamics, featuring a large roof spoiler, side air elements, and an optimized rear bumper. Fast charging is also enhanced; at -10°C, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 28 minutes thanks to a pre-heating system.

The 4WD version comes with two high-power electric motors, delivering a combined output of 280 kW. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. Standard X-MODE ensures confident handling on snow and off-road, with adaptive torque distribution.

Inside, the cabin features a horizontal dashboard layout, a 14-inch display, an advanced multimedia system, and two color options: black and khaki. The standard Toyota Safety Sense safety suite is complemented by Advanced Drive and Advanced Park features.

The bZ4X Touring will be available starting from ¥5.75 million for the FWD version, with sales through the KINTO subscription service from April 2026.
