DM Performance transforms Renault Twizy into high-power drift car

DM Performance modified the Renault Twizy with a Stark Varg motor, boosting it to 80 hp and 938 Nm torque. This electric drift car rivals pickup trucks in performance.

British tuning shop DM Performance has transformed the compact Renault Twizy into a drift car with performance that rivals powerful pickup trucks. They removed the standard 17-horsepower electric motor and replaced it with a powertrain from the Stark Varg electric cross motorcycle.

After modifications, the Twizy now produces 80 horsepower, a 396% increase over the original figure. Torque reaches 938 Nm. For comparison, the 2027 Ram TRX delivers 921 Nm. The Twizy is significantly lighter than a full-size pickup truck.

Engineers had to redesign the rear body section, install a chain drive instead of the standard transmission, and upgrade the differential with a new stainless steel housing. They fitted the suspension with adjustable coilovers to reduce the risk of rollover.

A 32 kg Stark Varg battery was also installed, replacing the original 100 kg unit. The new battery offers slightly greater capacity and can deliver high power. The modified Twizy has already reached 161 km/h, won a race against an Audi S1, and demonstrated drifting alongside a Lamborghini Aventador. This project stands as a vivid example of tuning in the compact electric car segment.
