Mercedes-Benz unveils VLE electric minivan as a premium mobile office

Mercedes-Benz launches the VLE electric minivan on March 10, featuring a 115 kWh battery, 300+ mile range, and autonomous parking. Priced up to £110,000, it targets luxury transportation.

Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil its new VLE on March 10. This premium electric minivan is positioned as a mobile office or conference room on wheels, targeting the luxury transportation segment. In high-end configurations, the model could cost up to £110,000.

The VLE will succeed the EQV but will be built on the new VAN.EA platform. It features a fully autonomous parking system: the electronics independently recognize available spaces in front and behind, performing the maneuver without driver input. A function is also available that allows the vehicle to reverse out along a previously recorded path.

Additionally, a rear-wheel steering system with an angle of up to 7 degrees is employed, reducing the turning circle to 10.9 meters—a figure comparable to the CLA sedan.

The minivan is equipped with a 115 kWh battery. In a test drive from Stuttgart to Rome, the vehicle covered 683 miles (1,099 km) with two 15-minute charging stops. The expected range exceeds 300 miles (483 km). It supports an 800-volt architecture and fast charging up to 320 kW.

Previously, 32CARS reported that Mercedes-Benz had opted for a fully vegan interior for the base S-Class.
