DS Automobiles introduces N° naming system for upcoming vehicles

DS Automobiles is transitioning to a new N° naming system, with models like the N°4 and N°7 replacing previous numerical indexes, as revealed in trademark registrations.

DS Automobiles is continuing its transition to a new model naming system. Following the debut of the DS N°8, the brand has moved away from its previous format with numerical indexes and adopted the "N°" designation with a number. For instance, the updated DS 4 is now called the N°4, and the successor to the DS 7 will be named the N°7.

New registered names have been discovered in the international trademark registry: N°1, N°2, N°3, N°5, N°6, N°7, and N°9. This doesn't automatically mean all these models will launch, as some names might have been secured in advance.

It's known that DS is preparing a spiritual successor to the popular DS 3. In this context, the N°3 index is likely reserved for an updated version of the current DS 3 crossover. The N°2 name could go to a new B-segment model, while N°1 might theoretically suit a compact A-segment city car. The company hasn't released official details about future projects yet.

Registering this broad range of indexes shows that the brand is building a foundation for its upcoming lineup of new vehicles in 2026 and subsequent model updates across various classes.
