Zeekr 8X sporty hybrid crossover: details, specs, and 2026 launch
Learn about the new sporty Zeekr 8X hybrid crossover with black styling, carbon fiber, and up to 1,400 hp. Launching in 2026 with advanced hybrid technology.
The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released details about a new sporty version of the hybrid crossover, the Zeekr 8X. The model is currently undergoing extensive pre-production testing and is scheduled for an official launch in the first half of 2026.
This new variant retains the overall design of the Zeekr 8X but adds a focus on sporty details. The crossover features a fully black styling package, an electric rear spoiler, carbon fiber elements, and red brake calipers. The front end keeps its lidar and signature cascading-pattern radiator grille, while the rear gets full-width taillights with 54,894 diamond-shaped lighting elements.
Underpinning the model is the SEA-S hybrid architecture. The powertrain includes a 2.0T gasoline engine producing 205 kW and an electric motor, with the version claiming a top speed of 230 km/h. Preliminary information suggests the car may get a 900-volt architecture, a battery supporting 6C ultra-fast charging, and a three-motor electric system with a peak output of up to 1,400 horsepower. However, final specifications and range have not been disclosed.
In terms of dimensions, the sporty Zeekr 8X measures 5,108 mm in length, 2,026 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,069 mm. Its curb weight is about 2,800 kg, and its gross vehicle weight rating goes up to 3,300 kg. For reference, the standard Zeekr 8X is equipped with triple lithium-ion batteries from the CATL-Geely joint venture, with capacities of 55.1 and 70 kWh, providing an electric range of up to 328 km on the WLTC cycle.
The introduction of this sporty version broadens the positioning of the Zeekr 8X and underscores the brand's push to blend hybrid technology with expressive design and high performance. Final technical data and trim levels will be revealed closer to the sales launch, but it's already clear that Zeekr is betting on an image-focused, technology-packed variant of its large PHEV crossover.
