Citroën introduces new affordable base version of e-C3 Aircross electric SUV

Citroën revises strategy with a base e-C3 Aircross at €25,690, offering 300 km WLTP range. Qualifies for subsidies, making it a top affordable electric SUV choice.

Citroën has kicked off 2026 by revising its strategy for affordable electric vehicles. The French brand has reintroduced a base version of its e-C3 Aircross crossover, significantly lowering the model's starting price.

By the end of 2025, only the Autonomía Extendida variant was available, featuring a 54 kWh battery and up to 400 km of WLTP range. This version started at €29,550 in the You trim. Now, Citroën is once again offering the Autonomía Confort option, equipped with a 44 kWh battery and rated for 300 km of WLTP range.

The new base version is priced at €25,690 before subsidies. For context, when first launched in June 2024, a similar variant started at €27,400. In the Spanish market, the e-C3 Aircross qualifies for maximum support of €4,500 under the Plan Auto+ program, bringing the effective price down to €21,190.

Bringing back a more affordable version helps Citroën strengthen its position in the compact electric SUV segment and broaden its appeal to first-time EV buyers. Against this backdrop of increasing competition, including from Chinese brands, the e-C3 Aircross stands out as one of the most affordable electric crossovers in its class, combining reasonable pricing, practical dimensions, and modern styling.
