Ford Ranger FX4 off-road package now on XL, plus fresh updates
Ford expands the Ranger's FX4 Off-Road package to the XL, XLT and Lariat 4WDs, adding 20-inch black wheels, body-color trim, Avalanche paint and a pano roof.
Ford is widening access to the Ranger’s FX4 off-road package. For the first time, the option can be fitted to the entry-level XL, with availability also spanning the XLT and Lariat trims. Extending FX4 to the base model lowers the barrier for buyers who want an off-road look and added confidence without moving up the range.
The FX4 Off-Road package brings 20-inch black aluminum wheels, all-season tires, a revised grille and trim, plus body-color bumpers and cladding. It’s offered exclusively on four-wheel-drive versions and can’t be paired with the 17-inch silver wheels. The body-color elements give the truck a cleaner, more cohesive stance, while the black wheels add a purposeful edge.
Beyond the package, the Ranger adds an updated Avalanche color, new 17-inch wheels, and an available panoramic sunroof. At the same time, Azure Gray is being retired—a small shift that freshens the palette without changing the truck’s core appeal.
