New Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: pricing, features, and release date
Mitsubishi announces pricing for the 2026 Outlander PHEV in Europe, starting at €46,900. Features include 306 hp, 86 km electric range, and advanced tech.
Mitsubishi has officially announced pricing for the new-generation Outlander in Europe. The fourth iteration of this midsize SUV will reach dealerships in February 2026, available exclusively as a plug-in hybrid. The starting price is set at €46,900.
Visually, the new Outlander has undergone a significant transformation, adopting a bolder, more expressive look inspired by the brand's Dynamic Shield design language. At 4.71 meters long, it positions itself to compete directly with models like the Toyota RAV4, Peugeot 5008, and newer segment entrants such as the Omoda 9.
The 2026 Outlander lineup offers four trim levels, ranging from the base Inform to the flagship Instyle. Even the entry-level version comes well-equipped, featuring modern tech like dual 12.3-inch digital displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment, wireless smartphone integration, dual-zone climate control, and advanced driver-assistance systems. Higher trims add more comfort and assistance features, including a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and traffic-jam assist systems.
The top Instyle trim caters to buyers seeking premium comfort. It boasts a leather interior, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker Yamaha audio system, and an expanded set of options for cold climates and long-distance travel. From a technical standpoint, the new Outlander stands alone without direct alternatives.
Every version is powered by a plug-in hybrid system based on a 2.4-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine paired with two electric motors—one for each axle. The combined output is 306 horsepower, and the 22.7 kWh battery provides up to 86 kilometers of all-electric range. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 170 km/h.
Mitsubishi is betting on technological sophistication over a wide range of choices. The new Outlander is an expensive but honest plug-in hybrid, offering no simplified versions or compromises.
