BMW iX3 2026 adds white steering wheel and enhanced options

BMW updates the 2026 iX3 with a white steering wheel option, new exterior colors, and AC charging features. Learn about the latest enhancements for this electric crossover.

BMW has updated the configurator for the 2026 iX3 model year, adding one of the most discussed interior options—a white steering wheel. This element was previously shown in official images but was not available for order. After six months since sales began, the option has finally become available to buyers in the German market.

The white steering wheel is offered exclusively in combination with the Digital White package, which costs €1,080 and includes seat upholstery in Veganza—BMW's proprietary artificial leather. The same material is used for the steering wheel itself. However, the interior cannot be called entirely white: the manufacturer has balanced it with Atlas Gray fabric inserts, black armrest trim, and an anthracite headliner.

Notably, the white steering wheel is available even for the base version of the BMW iX3, without requiring an upgrade to the M Sport or M Sport Pro packages. The cost of the option itself is €250. At the center of the wheel is the updated BMW logo, executed in a new minimalist style.

For those who prefer more practical solutions, the standard black steering wheel with an M logo on the lower spoke remains available. Both options share the same shape and vertical spokes, differing only in color.

Simultaneously, BMW has expanded the exterior color palette, adding Fire Red, Eucalyptus Green, and matte Individual Frozen Space Silver. Additionally, the iX3 now offers the AC Charging Professional option, providing AC charging with a capacity of up to 22 kW, as well as a Vehicle-to-Load function with an output of up to 3.7 kW, allowing the car to serve as a mobile power source.

The white steering wheel is a striking but bold choice for an everyday electric crossover: it emphasizes the premium nature of the iX3 but will require owners to pay extra attention to maintenance, especially in Russian operating conditions.
