Audi ends production of A1 and Q2, focuses on electric future

Audi has stopped production of the A1 and Q2 models, with no direct replacements announced. Learn about the reasons and the brand's shift towards electric vehicles.

Audi is discontinuing its compact A1 and Q2 models. Both cars can no longer be configured on the brand's official website—they are only available for purchase from dealer stock.

The Audi A1 was produced for 15 years across two generations. However, demand proved insufficient to justify further development, and the A1 has no future. The Audi Q2 crossover is also being phased out. This model lasted around ten years on the market and has similarly vanished from the configurator. Positioned as an alternative to the Volkswagen T-Roc, it ended up significantly less popular.

For now, there are no direct successors to the Audi A1 and Q2. Meanwhile, the company is preparing a new electric vehicle with design cues inspired by the Audi A2, though its launch timeline remains undisclosed.
