Controversial Porsche 911 tuning by Larte Design lacks coherence

Tuning a Porsche 911 comes with heightened responsibility, as any alteration to its iconic silhouette instantly sparks strong reactions. Yet the latest project from Larte Design has managed to surprise even seasoned enthusiasts—not so much for its boldness, but for its apparent lack of a clear vision.

What we have here is a Porsche 911 Carrera whose exterior looks like the designers couldn't agree until the very last minute. The bodywork features a two-tone scheme: burgundy covers the front end, doors, and mirrors, while grey takes over the rear, side skirts, and roof elements.

Black accents and yellow brake calipers add to the contrast, but instead of creating a cohesive look, the result feels visually conflicted. Even the wheels lack consistency: the front ones are painted to match the body, while the rears remain silver, which only amplifies the sense of disjointedness.

The aerodynamic kit includes modified side skirts, a splitter, a diffuser, extra elements near the taillights, and not one but two additional stop lights in the diffuser. Some parts are finished in exposed carbon fibre, yet here too there's no feeling of thoughtful balance—the elements come across as a collection of options rather than a unified concept.

The interior appears to have been left stock. Larte Design hasn't shown the cabin, and the tinted windows only reinforce the assumption that the Carrera's interior hasn't been touched. This highlights the external dissonance: an aggressive and controversial exterior isn't backed up by any technical or atmospheric changes inside.

Technically, this is a standard Porsche 911 Carrera with a flat-six engine producing 394 horsepower and 489 Nm of torque. With the Sport Chrono package, it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and tops out at 295 km/h. In other words, all the 'character' of this project is concentrated purely in its appearance.

This Porsche 911 serves as a clear example of how tuning without a coherent philosophy can undermine even the strongest design. In the pursuit of flashiness, it's easy to lose identity—especially when dealing with a legend.
