Mercedes-Benz introduces the GLA Night Edition in South Africa with a bold dark design, AMG Line features, and a 1.3-liter hybrid engine. Learn about specs and pricing.
Mercedes-Benz is expanding its GLA lineup in South Africa with the introduction of a special Night Edition. Based on the AMG Line, this model features a bold dark aesthetic, exclusive design elements, and enhanced visual appeal.
Exterior: Dark Palette and Night Package Accents
The GLA Night Edition stands out with its signature MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey paint, paired with glossy black components from the Night Package. Black mirror housings, window surrounds, and roof rails create a striking contrast with the body. Special AMG wheels emphasize the sporty look, while standard LED headlights and taillights complete the premium appearance. Up front, the design retains the AMG Line style, including a hood with power domes and a grille featuring the Mercedes Star pattern.
Interior: Minimal Changes, Maximum Digitalization
Inside, the GLA Night Edition maintains the AMG Line layout. It comes with a digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch multimedia display running the latest MBUX system, along with turbine-style air vents and a Nappa leather steering wheel. Since the focus is on the exterior styling, the interior sees only subtle differences.
Technical Details and Pricing
Under the hood, there's a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, delivering 120 kW and 270 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Priced at R972,387 (approximately $59,000), the GLA Night Edition includes a five-year service plan and a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty. Positioned above the GLA200 AMG Line, it offers more expressive styling while keeping the core technical specifications unchanged.
