Chinese automaker Chery has announced the launch of its new C5 hybrid crossover in the Australian market. This vehicle features a modern hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged internal combustion engine with a powerful electric motor. The combined output of this system reaches 224 horsepower.
A key highlight of the new model is its performance, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h taking just 7.9 seconds. The crossover also stands out for its efficiency and eco-friendliness, thanks to the electric component of its powertrain.
According to official company data, the vehicle has a range of approximately 1,000 kilometers under WLTP testing standards, which underscores its high efficiency and long-distance capability.
The price for the new model will be somewhat higher than that of traditional gasoline-powered vehicles in this class.
Company representatives believe the new C5 hybrid crossover will be a strong competitor to models already on the market, such as the Japanese Toyota Corolla Cross and the Chinese Haval Jolion.
