Cadillac to introduce new electric models in South Korea by 2026

General Motors confirms Cadillac's EV expansion in South Korea, including Vistiq and Optiq models, with potential V-series and Celestiq launches. New showrooms planned to boost brand presence.

Following the launch of the flagship Cadillac Escalade IQ late last year, General Motors has officially confirmed plans to further expand the brand's electric lineup in South Korea. The local GM Korea division views the market as strategically important and is preparing several steps to strengthen Cadillac's position there.

The brand plans to introduce additional all-electric models to the Korean market in 2026. Currently, the Cadillac Lyriq and the large, image-defining Escalade IQ are already on sale. Soon, they will be joined by the three-row Cadillac Vistiq crossover and the more compact Cadillac Optiq, both part of the brand's new global EV generation.

Cadillac is showing particular interest in performance versions. The company is exploring the potential launch of electric V-series models—Lyriq-V and Optiq-V—as demand grows amid Korean buyers' interest in high-tech, dynamic premium vehicles.

Furthermore, the possibility of an ultra-luxury electric flagship, the Cadillac Celestiq, offering custom orders to clients, is not ruled out. Alongside expanding its model range, Cadillac will also strengthen its dealer network.

In the first half of 2026, new showrooms are planned to open in Songpa and western Seoul districts, as well as in Busan. This move aims to boost brand recognition and simplify access to electric vehicles in the country's largest cities.

Despite the focus on electrification, Cadillac will continue selling the gasoline-powered Escalade, maintaining a balance between traditional and new technologies. The brand's strategy is also aligned with GM's global plans, including Cadillac's upcoming entry into Formula 1 as a tool to enhance its image.

South Korea is becoming a testing ground for Cadillac: if premium electric vehicles gain traction here, the brand will gain a strong argument for accelerated expansion into other technologically advanced markets.
