Dongfeng Nissan NX8: new electric crossover with 800V platform

Dongfeng Nissan unveils the NX8 crossover in BEV and EREV versions for China, featuring 800V platform, 5C fast charging, and up to 650 km CLTC range.

The joint venture Dongfeng Nissan has unveiled the new NX8 crossover, which will enter the Chinese market in fully electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) versions. This model will be related to the N7 sedan and features a design distinct from global Nissan offerings, tailored specifically to Chinese buyer preferences.

The NX8 measures 4.87 meters long, 1.92 meters wide, and 1.68 meters tall, with a wheelbase of 2.92 meters and seating for five.

Technically, the NX8 stands out with an 800-volt platform and new-generation LFP cells from CATL that support ultra-fast 5C charging. The electric version features a single motor rated at either 215 or 250 kW. For context, sedans on a similar architecture have lower outputs of 160 or 200 kW.

Battery capacity remains undisclosed, but CLTC range figures are known: 565, 580, and 650 km. The 5C rating means charging can take roughly 12 minutes. A more detailed presentation of the NX8 is scheduled for the first half of 2026.
